The Whole Wide World

Remember that song?

He’s got the whole world in his hands,

The whole wide world in his hands…

I loved it when I was little. We sang it in school, and I remember everyone looking happy.

Lately I have been overwhelmed by my responsibilities. The other morning, I asked for help and I heard, “I’ve got you.”

I picture the support of the Universe coming in many different ways, and one of my favorites is the image of cradling. A pair of hands, cupped as if to hold water, holding us all.

We all are supported. We all support. We are an intrinsic part of the hands that support us, and we are all held by the hands we comprise.

Here’s a handy framework I picked up from The Amazing Power of Deliberate Intent by Esther and Jerry Hicks: “You have a manager who works continually on your behalf called the Law of Attraction, and you have only to ask in order for this Universal Manager to jump to your request.”

If you are overwhelmed, or just want to feel happy, picture yourself securely held in the hands of the Universe as it works diligently on your behalf.
