The person you want to be is the person you already are.
A teacher said this as I was listening to a guided meditation on Insight Timer. I have heard it before, but today I HEARD it and decided to apply it.
How does your life change when you assume the reason you want to be a certain person is because you already are? How does this perspective transform your actions and thoughts?
Being your best self has nothing to do with changing. It’s an excavation. Find out who you are by paying attention to who you want to be.
The challenge:
- For one week, every day, write one sentence about the person you want to be.
I want to be a person who…
- Rewrite that sentence with the knowledge that you already are.
I …
Example:
- I want to be a person who changes the world.
- I change the world.
As you go through your day, operate on this assumption. If you are someone who changes the world, and you KNOW this to be true, how does it affect your thoughts and actions?
The Universe is infinitely friendly and loving. It hears your thoughts and turns them into reality. The reason you want to be that person is because you already are.
