Do Nothing

In this strange time of social distancing and sheltering in place, we are being very creative about how to recreate our usual social connections and activities. Bravo to us!

I propose this is also an excellent time to evaluate these activities. Must we be doing something or interacting with someone at all times? Is it possible that our collective consciousness is craving time to do nothing?

There are so many excellent resources and frameworks that can help you with anxiety, worry, and fear, but the single best resource is INSIDE. If you can be quiet and listen to yourself, you will find the answers and the peace you seek.

Anxious energy is everywhere right now… What do we DO? What do we DO? What do we DOOOO?

Today’s inspiration: Discomfort

How to use it: How can discomfort be inspiring? Discomfort is your body’s way of telling you that you are not in alignment with your higher self. This can mean mental or physical discomfort. Discomfort is wise and powerful. It comes from you, who are also wise and powerful. You are connected to Source Energy. You are Source Energy. Discomfort is telling you something. Take a minute to listen.

Example: I have been saying to myself, “Every crisis offers opportunity,” and this morning I was totally manic with my intention to find the opportunity. What should I DO? Because I was freaking out, I decided to listen to my own advice and visit my self-care practices. Move your body. Still your mind. Meditate. Lean into the discomfort.

I released my nervous energy by doing a 10-minute workout on 8Fit (great app) and a 5-minute yoga routine with Brett Larkin (awesome). My head was still going, but I was feeling a little better. I could hear my inside voice telling me to be quiet. I set my Insight Timer (great meditation app) for 17 minutes because it’s 3/17 – St. Patrick’s Day, and I like the number 7. And in the quiet, I heard my voice…DO NOTHING.

My body relaxed and my mind returned to peace. And then, crazily enough, I was totally inspired to write this post and do a million other things, but this time from a place of inspiration!

Align with yourself and you will be at peace always.

Be inspired. Go forth. Create your day.
