I spent my childhood summer vacations with my family, and three other families. To me, it felt like one big family. Though we see each other rarely now that we are grown, I still remember tiny details about everyone.
Last night, one of the moms, Sandy, passed away. When I call up her memory, the first thing I hear is her laughter. I can feel she is happy. I like to think she is with Connor, Stan, and Stacy—members of our clan who have also passed on. It makes me cry because I can feel the strength of their love. I feel them urging me to write this. It’s strange to experience something so deeply—hear a voice in your bones—that you have to follow it, even though you know what it might sound like to other people.
I literally hear her saying, “Tell them everything’s going to be alright. Laugh. Lighten up.”
This makes me think of Stephen Hawking’s quote: “Life would be tragic, if it weren’t funny.”
Today’s inspiration: Fearlessness
How to use it: Know that you are enough. You are loved and supported. Though you can’t see the whole picture, allow yourself to feel it. Let yourself love, and move through your life without fear.
“Everything will be okay in the end. If it’s not okay, it’s not the end.” –John Lennon
“We are spiritual beings having a physical experience.” –Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
In the words of Bob Marley, we are one love.
