My mom told me about a fortune cookie message she got this week:
Your luck has run out.
She said her heart dropped when she first read it. But then she decided it meant her bad luck had run out, and concluded it was fortunate indeed.
Today’s Inspiration: Perspective
How to use it: Look at every situation as if it has been created specifically for your benefit. Replace any negative assumptions with positive thoughts.
Example: You are picking up something from the grocery store and you’re in a rush. The person in front of you forgot bananas and asks you if you mind if he runs and gets them real quick. Silently cursing, you say, “Sure, no problem.” Your mind goes into a downward spiral of annoyance, but you remember this post and think, “I know this is happening for my benefit.” When you finally leave the store, you walk right into a friend you have been thinking about lately. You make plans to have lunch next week.
- Did your positive outlook create a positive outcome?
- Would that have been the result regardless?
- Does it matter?
If your thoughts create your reality, you have every reason to keep them positive. If your thoughts have no effect, why not be positive and save yourself some grief?
“Your mind is a tool you can choose to use any way you wish.” -Louise Hay, You Can Heal Your Life
Be inspired. Go forth. Create your day.
