Over the weekend, I found myself in a familiar place where I realized I was still holding on to something that I thought I had let go. I was saying to myself, “Nope. That can’t be it. I’ve already worked through that issue.” But as I thought about it, I realized that it was indeed just another layer of the same issue.
As I talked about it with my husband, he asked me questions that I would probably ask him if the situation were reversed. “How is that about you?” “How is this pattern serving you?” I am so grateful for my husband. I write about these things, but somehow I forget when it comes to myself. Thank you, Dave!
And so today, on Manifest Monday, I find myself looking at my story and how I use it to manifest my life. How I define myself. It’s a work in progress, and the inspiration for today’s post.
Today’s inspiration: Your Story
What to do:
- Write a few sentences about yourself that you might put on the About page of your website. It’s not going on your website, so don’t try to make it perfect, just write what comes to mind first.
- Now look at your summary. Notice how you define yourself.
- Spend some time thinking about who you want to be. Are there stories hiding that are limiting you? Just because your past experience is true doesn’t mean it must be part of your experience now, unless you want it to be.
Repeat: Do this exercise daily for one week. Keep your summaries, but don’t look at them until the end of the week. At the end of the week, read through your summaries and notice what has changed.
Let’s see where we find ourselves next Monday!
Be inspired. Go forth. Create your day.
Note: My friend shared a great story about Time after she read my Week of Time posts. Another friend shared how she effectively JOMOs after she read my Joy of Missing Out post. I’ll share their insights with you Thursday!
